The 3 Mile Run
The Bite Size Mud & Chocolate race is set on beautiful, non-technical trails that are well marked.  This race makes a great introduction to trail running. Come out and run with us and you’ll fall in love with trail running!  Feeling fast?  Come and check out these races for a great way to run a fast trail time. Not sure you can run 3 miles? Walkers are welcome to hit the trails with us too.

The Half Mile Kids Dash
This super fun romp on the trail is perfect for getting little (or big) ones out into nature! Introducing kids to the trails is a wonderful way to bolster their relationship with nature and the world around them. Little trail runners today, stewards of the Earth tomorrow!  We want our little runners to feel special, so their race is the first race of the day.  We also think this little run is a great way for bigger runners to warm up for the 3 miler!  REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THE KIDS DASH (parents can join kids for free), the cost is $10. Each child will receive a chocolate finisher medal when they cross the finish line.  100% of profits from the Kids Dash will be donated to the Strong Against Cancer Foundation. You can register by checking the Kids Dash box on your registration or by bringing $10 on race day, and registering there. If you plan to register your child on race day, you may want to bring an extra $10 for a Kids sized tee – we’ll have a limited number of adorable little Mud & Chocolate tees for sale at the race.

Parking

Please park at the Big Picture school on the north end of the park, near the ballfields. There is plenty of parking at the school and it’s just a short walk to the race start/finish.  From the parking lot at the school, walk between the ballfields to the pond, and you’ll see us.  Also, because parking is limited, we encourage carpooling when possible.  You can discuss running and chocolate on the way over and then bring your race stories and full chocolate bellies home together!

Environment
We are committed to preserving our area’s gorgeous natural beauty and are focused on making Mud & Chocolate a “low impact” event.
Here are some of the ways that we are minimizing our impact on the environment:
•    We try to provide recycling and composting bins for racers
•    We use compostable cups at our aid stations and finish areas
•    We encourage carpooling and human powered transportation
•    Our signage and course markings are re-usable and leave no trace of our races
•    We hope our race helps raise environmental awareness and makes folks want to protect the trails
Plus, hosting races in our area’s beautiful parks provides funding to keep them running.
