The parks are closed and we're busy social distancing, but we can still run "together" virtually this spring. Rather than cancel our spring events, we've switched them to virtual runs. Everyone that was entered in the original 4.5 mile or half marathon will automatically be switched to the virtual 4.5 mile or half marathon. There are still a few virtual spots open for those that haven't registered yet and want to join us too!
**If you signed up for the in-person run but you'd prefer not to run virtually this spring, please send us an email about getting a refund for your entry fee before April 20th.
CHECK HERE FOR IMPORTANT RACE DAY INFORMATION
Redmond Watershed in April and November:
The half marathon and the 4.5 mile start at 9:00am.
Soaring Eagle in August (The Gnome Run):
The 4.5 mile starts at 8:10
The half marathon starts at 8:30
You can pick up your race number at the event, beginning 45min before start time. Our sweet races are limited to a small number of participants, so this is plenty of time.
This one’s for the running rock stars! Sign up as a Chocoholic and run on both days at one of our Mud & Chocolate Weekends (April and November). You’ll run the 4.5 mile on Saturday and then come back Sunday for the Half Marathon. You’ll also get a special chocolate surprise, separate combined race results and two visits to CHOCOMANIA!
FOR INFORMATION ABOUT THE BITE SIZE AND VIRTUAL RACES,
PLEASE GO TO THOSE PAGES.
All finishers will be presented with a delicious chocolate medal and a full size gourmet Seattle Chocolate bar! Half marathoners will also receive a gorgeous, sparkly commemorative medal!
We also think it’s fun to give something to the first folks that come across the finish line, so the overall male and female winners of the half marathon and 4.5 miler will receive a special chocolate treat supplied by Seattle Chocolate.
Half marathon runners can fuel up at our chocolate aid station.
All finishers are invited to indulge in CHOCOMANIA at the finish line!
Our races include well-marked trails, lots of chocolate, friendly people, chocolate medals and paid patronage to our beautiful parks (which keeps the parks alive). If you’d also like a wearable reminder of the fun, you can order an eco-friendly tee or a big, cozy sweatshirt when you register. We use a great designer so our designs are always a big hit. Tees are a steal at $15, sweatshirts at $35.
In April and November, we’ll be at the Redmond Watershed, a real jewel of the Pacific Northwest! The Redmond Watershed is a beautiful park rich with old growth forests, well-groomed trails and moderately rolling hills. The 4.5 mile and the half marathon events will start at the same time and use the same loop course once inside the park. Half marathoners will make the loop three times, swinging by the aid station twice. This is a trail run so there will not be additional aid on the course. Please plan to carry whatever additional aid you might need. For those of you familiar with “the Watershed,” we’re skipping the biggest hills in the park and have opted for a more moderate course that we think beginners and advanced trail runners will both enjoy.
Our August event The Gnome Run, is held at Soaring Eagle Park in Sammamish. This beautiful park offers rolling, moderately technical single track trails. It’s a great park with lush greenery! Because there are some rocks and roots, we recommend you try trail running before you sign up for this race. The 4.5 mile and the half marathon events will use the same loop course once inside the park. Half marathoners will make the loop three times, swinging by the aid station twice. This is a trail run so there will not be additional aid on the course. Please plan to carry whatever additional aid you might need. For those of you familiar with Soaring Eagle, we avoid the biggest hill in the park, but there are some rollers. This park has many little trails, so we work really hard to make sure the race courses are marked very well!
PARKING AND DIRECTIONS
Because parking is limited, we encourage carpooling when possible. You can discuss running and chocolate on the way over and then bring your race stories and full chocolate bellies home together!
Parking within the Redmond Watershed is limited to the paved parking lot (no parking in the gravel lot). If the parking lot is full, runners can park on the road into the park. It may take you some time to walk back to the park (we figure this way you can eat a few extra pieces of chocolate without the guilt), so please arrive early.
Parking within Soaring Eagle is very limited, but you can park along the main road (Main Drive) outside of the park. Please do not park along the side streets within the surrounding neighborhoods.
